Dear WTTA Members,
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined in our recent work party! Your energy, cooperation, and dedication made a real difference and the progress we made together on the lot cleanup was nothing short of amazing. It’s always a joy to see our community come together with such purpose and pride in our shared space.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing new members and long-time members come together to share a meal after the work party. The potluck was truly something special, an amazing spread of tender ribs, juicy watermelon, colorful salads, and a buffet fit for a king! Moments like these remind us of the strength of our community and the joy that comes from working and celebrating side by side.
As we reflect on the spirit of our work, it’s meaningful to consider the deeper roots of our park’s name. Washougal, derived from the Cascades Chinook word was̓úx̣al, often interpreted as “rushing water,” reminds us that nature is always evolving, flowing forward, yet still rooted in its origin. Like the river, our park continues to grow and change, and we do our best to care for it while honoring the natural beauty and intention of those who came before us.
With that spirit in mind, we kindly ask all members to ensure that their lots are in tip-top shape as we look ahead to our upcoming fundraiser on August 16th. This event is a chance to share the magic of Timber Trails with friends, family, and potential new members; and we want our park to shine!
To help with final preparations, we’ll be hosting a special work party this Saturday, August 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Work party credits will be available for those who participate, and we’d love to have your helping hands as we put the finishing touches on our grounds.
Thank you again for all you do to make this community such a welcoming and beautiful place. Let’s keep up the great momentum and show others what makes Washougal Timber Trails so special.
Warm Regards,
Julie Knoedler, Board President
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Washougal Timber Trails Association
