Our First Season

June 24, 2022

The Community Garden is now open for planting!

It’s located at the Lodge.
Skip Haines marked it off with orange tape in 6’ sections. Anyone who wants to participate please feel free to plant to fill them up! 1st come, 1st serve and now is the time to get it in!

Please leave the one patch open for Garlic planting at the end of September. There is a rock marker on that plot. You can plant things there that will harvest by end of September like radishes, green beans etc but we will be planting it out for Garlic end of September.

We have a bucket watering system there. The bucket with holes sits inside the other. Fill the hole bucket with water and just swing it slowly over your plants. Bring water as often as you can and you can use my bucket water system. Please do not use our well water.

Also, we have some compost on-site you can use to plant your plants as this 1st year the soil is poor. It will improve by next year. Only use the compost directly in the hole you are planting not on the whole plot.

Use mulch to help conserve water and keep your plants moist. Good mulch to use is leaves, spent flower heads (Rhoddies are great) and grass clippings (no grass seed heads)
